President Biden has extended DED through June 30, 2024, for Liberians currently in the U.S.
On June 27, 2022, President Biden extended and expanded DED for Liberians from June 30, 2022 through June 30, 2024..
Deferred Enforce Departure (DED) defers the removal of any Liberian national, or individual without nationality who last habitually resided in Liberia, from the United States, through June 30, 2024. This means you cannot be deported from the United States between now and June 30, 2024.
To qualify for this recent DED, you must:
be a Liberian national or an individual without nationality who last habitually resided in Liberia; and
have been continuously physically present in the United States since May 20, 2017.
Under the extended DED, you can apply of work authorization and travel authorization to leave the United States and re-enter. However, if you travel to Liberia you may no longer be eligible for the DED.
